About Career Coaching

The Career Coaching Module includes the TRAINING and all the RESOURCES career practitioners, coaches and youth professionals need to assist young people connect to their strengths and design an inspiring Life and Career Pathway Plan that matches their vision, values and lifestyle preferences.

This Module is designed to enhance any existing career or transition program and can be delivered face to face or virtually with groups or individual coaching sessions.

You can also deliver this Module in conjunction with our Life, Performance and Peer coaching modules, to form an extended program with up to fifty hours of potential coaching curriculum.

Five P.O.W.E.R coaching steps to design their own life and career pathway plan.

Step #1:
Imagine Possibilities for their Life & Career

The key to life and career planning is self-awareness. So to begin their journey, young people will get to explore their natural strengths and gifts by completing their own “Who am I?” personal profile. The ability to identify their true self will help them imagine possibilities for the life they would love to live and the type of work they would find fulfilling.

Step #2:
Become Organised by making a plan

Young people will design a wish list of the goals they would love to achieve in the short, medium and long term.  Their goals will give them hope for the future and also provide a road map of actions required to make their dreams a reality.

Step #3:
Develop Will-power and motivation

Young people will get to consider the costs and benefits of achieving their goals and determine if they are worth striving for. This process serves as a reality check, with a focus on building the commitment, ownership and motivation they need to be successful. 

Step #4:
Build your Emotional Skills

Young people will learn how “can-do” and “can’t do” attitudes impact on the resilience and persistence they need  to overcome obstacles and achieve success. They will also identify the team of people who will support them with their plan.

Step #5:
Achieve Results by taking action.

Young people will finish their plan, by establishing two S.M.A.R.T steps they will immediately take. This allows them to experience success quickly and build their confidence and sense of agency in implementing goals on an ongoing basis.

Their pathway plans can then you used as a focus for all ongoing coaching conversations with their parents, peers or their coaches.

What is included?

The Career Coaching Module comes with the resources and the training you need to confidently coach young people in groups, one to one or online.

Online Leader Accreditation Training

Through a combination of online self paced videos and a live coaching session, you will be taken step by step through the module and all the resources, so you can gain the confidence you need to  coach young people in groups, one to one and online.

The Training comes with a complete training manual and suggested extended coaching activities 


Printable Workbook – pdf

The My Life and Career Pathway Plan Worksheet – PDF can be printed for every young person you coach. The pathway plans can then be used as a focus for ongoing career and transition conversations with parents, peers and coaches, to keep young people on track with their goals and “fast track” behaviour change.

Qualities Coaching E-Cards

The Qualities Coaching Cards are a powerful tool to assist young people identify their strongest qualities and personal attributes. Connecting to their strengths promotes self-awareness, well-being and positive self-regard and assists them to connect to the type of life and work that is alignment with who they are. 

Life Motivator Coaching E-Cards

The My Life Motivator Coaching Cards depict 20 core values that can drive us in life and work. The Cards allow individuals to connect to their inner expert and identify the key drivers that give them meaning and life satisfaction at the deepest level. When individuals live in alignment with their core values they are able to increase their happiness, health and productivity in life, relationships and at work.

Interests Coaching E-Cards

The Interest Coaching Cards outline 32 different areas of interest that young people can review to assist them quickly identify the main interests they are naturally curious about and those they would like to explore further in their life and work in the future.

Lifestyle Coaching E-Cards

The Lifestyle Coaching Cards include 24 different lifestyle and living environment preferences. The cards will assist you young people identify their ideal lifestyle preferences that match who they are and the type of life that would give them the greatest meaning and life satisfaction in the future.

Workstyle Coaching E-Cards

The Workstyle coaching cards depicts 32 different work environment preferences. The cards will assist participants identify the work environment that best match who they are and would allow them to thrive and perform at their best at work. 

LifeType Coaching E-Cards

The My LifeType Coaching Cards outline six key personality types that are based on personality type theory and easily match with the six occupational themes. Helping young people identify their personality type will assist them connect to their natural strengths, lifestyle preferences and ways of interacting with the world and others.

The cards include a career interest profile sheet, for each Lifetype to assist them explore a range of careers that could match their main Lifetype preferences.
